Tech attache briefing: AI governance in Geneva: Who does what? And what’s next?
19 March 2026
Geneva - In Situ
Related topics: Artificial Intelligence Internet governance and digital policy
Organised by DiploFoundation

The event is part of a series of regular briefings that the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP) is delivering for diplomats at permanent missions and delegations in Geneva following digital policy issues. It is an invitation-only event.
As AI continues to feature prominently across tech, business, and policy agendas, AI governance debates are unfolding globally: across multiple UN entities, in regional organisations, in national capitals, and in technical standard-setting bodies. Geneva, as a hub for multilateral cooperation and digital governance, is home to a wide range of institutions engaging with AI from different angles.
Our discussion will focus on:
- Mapping Geneva’s AI governance ecosystem
- Looking ahead at upcoming Geneva processes
- Connecting the dots
